Congress’ plan would let AG ‘ban guns at will’. 2nd Amendment critics are ‘ready to run wild’

A perfect storm is developing for Second Amendment opponents that could allow President-elect Barack Obama’s choice for attorney general – Eric Holder – to “ban guns at will” despite the 2008 affirmation from the U.S. Supreme Court that U.S. citizens have a right to bear arms.

The situation was described with alarm by Alan Korwin, author of Gun Laws of America, in a recent commentary.

That’s the day scheduled in both Canada and the US for “The Great North American Phone In.” On that date, citizens of the United States and Canada are encouraged to call members of the U.S. Congress and the Canadian Parliament to voice opposition to the NAU. The purpose is to flood these centers of the “people’s representatives” with phone calls to literally shut down their switchboards. Maybe that will get their attention.

The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America is dead, says Robert A. Pastor, the American University professor who for more than a decade has been a major proponent of building a North American Community.

“The new president will probably discard the SPP,” Pastor wrote in an article titled “The Future of North America,” published in the current July/August issue of the Council on Foreign Relations magazine Foreign Affairs.

It is a steel and concrete corridor that will run right through the Old Pueblo, connecting Mexico City to Edmonton, Alberta.

Its purpose is to facilitate trade among the three countries and minimize traffic and congestion for residents.

Or is it evidence of a move afoot to intertwine the three North American countries and blur the lines of sovereignty?

That’s a matter of opinion.
